DESCRIPTION

Heracles (Roman Hercules) stands holding his infant son Telephus in his arms. The hero wears a lion-skin cape and carries a knotted club. A hind stands beside the pair. In myth, Telephus was exposed by his mother in the wilds and suckled by a deer.
