DESCRIPTION
Poseidon (Roman Neptune) rides across the sea in a chariot drawn by four Hippocamps (fish-tailed horses). He holds a trident in one hand and fish in other is crowned with a shining aureole. The god is accompanied by the marine-centaur Aphros, eponym of the Aphroi (Carthaginians) of North Africa, and Triton, god of the Libyan lake Tritonis.
