DESCRIPTION
The nine panels of this mosaic are decorated with portraits of the Muses. The nine goddesses are Thalia with a shepherd's crock and comic mask, Terpischore with a cithara, Clio with a scroll tube, Calliope with a scroll, Polyhymnia, Erato with a lyre, Urania with a globe, Melpomene and Euterpe.
